The Boat Shed, Bulimba
- Development Approvals
Originally Bulimba was a flat swampy peninsula extending into the Hamilton and Bulimba reaches of the Brisbane River.
The character of Bulimba has evolved to be dominated by now iconic tin and timber cottages and bungalows of the pre-war era. While the riparian zone gives way to activities connected to the river – the association with the Bulimba Reach of the Brisbane River is that of the boat sheds, slipways and boating.
The river has always been an important element of the city to the extent where we celebrate this attribute. This contemporary house –The Boat Shed – is the memory of this past represented by the distinctive building shape, composed by Aquatonic.
