PROJECT DESCRIPTION
The Brisbane showgrounds was established in 1875 and has been one of Queensland’s favourite gathering places.
Jensen Bowers was commissioned by RNA to complete monitoring of the boundary wall between the road reserves of Brookes Street and O’Connell Terrace.
A High Definition Laser Scanner was used to verify any encroachment and over a period measure what distance the wall is moving. The information was provided to the engineer to determine the rate of movement and the need for action/ remedial work. Data captured will assist architects, structural engineers and design teams in the redesign of the wall.
This capture method has avoided the cost and management time associated with traffic management, night shifts, inconvenience to the public and risk of Surveyors on the road.
