Senior planner, Laura Gannon, has recently been accepted as a full member to the Australian Institute of Emergency Services in recognition of her role in the mitigation of bushfire risk via strategic and statutory planning processes.
On her acceptance to the Institute, Laura states that ‘the utilisation of planning systems and methodologies to better plan for bushfire hazard in Queensland and build community resilience is one of the most effective instruments available to manage the risk of emergency and disaster’.
Laura’s work with Jensen Bowers focuses on planning for development which is responsive to the potential for bushfire threat, and developing strategic policies and instruments to better equip assessing authorities to identify and evaluate bushfire hazard and risk when planning for communities and development.
Jensen Bowers congratulates Laura on her acceptance to the Australian Institute of Emergency Services.
